Hugely buzzy show.
It's an adaptation of an extremely popular book series that actually went on to have an even more popular video game series.
Liam Hemsworth ended up taking over the role of Geralt for season four and season five, the final season, which will be out this year.
He took over from Henry Cavill.
Henry Cavill had kind of established the role and it calmed down very, very well.
The people who were into the books and the video games were very happy with this adaptation, found it very faithful, were very into Cavill's performances.
But the show was delayed due to COVID and then the 2023 Hollywood strikes.
Also reports that he'd left over creative differences with the team in terms of where Gerald, the character, was going.
Also rumours at the time that he would be returning as the Man of Steel Superman.
But sure, James Gunn then decided to reboot the whole DC franchise.
So he was essentially, I think, kind of out of a job there if it was ever on the table.
But shouldn't pan out.
So he's now busy.
He's off doing the Highlander reboot.
So don't worry about Henry Cavill.
He's booked and busy.
Hemsworth's performance has, depending on who you ask, kind of still remains divisive among the Witcher fans because I just think, I don't know, they'd really nailed it in terms of
look and fit with Cavill and it's very difficult to come in when you're already two seasons into a show you know like it's very very tricky yeah but they couldn't kill him off no they couldn't kill him because he's the lead character you know like it's what you do then it's tough yeah there's a really interesting one Lisa Kudrow who people will know from Friends obviously but she was nearly in another beloved sitcom
She was nearly Roz in Frasier, which I never knew.
This shocked me, researching this.
