Well, judging by this little investigation I've undertook, it seems so, um, and I spoke to a woman who helps people with just that.
So it doesn't really hurt to be reminded of the basics.
changing, what are some of the basic manners that you think are important to hold on to and maybe some basics that people should be reminded of?
Well, obviously the court of uh public opinion suggests that manners have left modern society.
But according to Mark Scully, a lecturer in social psychology at Mary Immaculate College in Limerick, it's actually not that black and white.
Um when I spoke with Mark, he explained that due to the constant change in social norms, what some people consider polite behavior, other people may not.
So even though I might consider thank you to be very polite, some people might not.

And so he's explained that um that's why there's such a range of opinions in this subject.
So ultimately it's too much of a generalization to say that people have lost manners or are becoming less polite.
Yeah, this issue hasn't gone away and it's certainly getting worse.
Um, in some of the new developments in Dublin, such as City West, Talla, and Stony Batter, parking has become a daily issue for those living in the areas.
More than 30,000 homes were built, either built or under construction in Dublin last year.
So obviously there's huge numbers of homes, new homes coming up, and that's great.
But it seems that in some areas the number of parking spaces isn't keeping up pace.
Um so that's meant that's
Some residents are resorting to parking anywhere and everywhere that they can find, wherever is really available.
And I spoke to Megan Butler, a newborn hearing screener who lives in the Carrigmore Woods development in City West, who's actually created a petition to highlight the issues in her area about parking and bring it to the local authority.
And she says that the parking situation has created so much tension in the community.
And what has the reaction been like so far if there's not that many car spaces but there's a lot of cars?
