day that my mother died, um, she was in a hospital in suburban Philadelphia at a town called Abington.

And I needed to after she died, um, I needed to get back to where I was staying at the Jesuit community in Marion.

Okay, so these are two Philadelphia suburbs.

If you had, you know, asked me

you know, I'll give you a million dollars if you can tell me how to get from Abington to Mary and I would have said, Sorry, I can't take that million dollars.

So I put it in the Google Maps.

Anyway, long story short, I'm driving home, sort of half, you know, paying attention and, you know, s crying.

And

suddenly I see on the Google Maps that we're driving past the street that my mom and dad grew up on in a suburb called Germantown where they first lived with me.

And then suddenly we were driving past my mother's house that she grew up in, uh in Roxborough.

And then something my mother always liked was the color of um the sky when it was pink.

She called it sky blue pink and I turned the corner of the s the sky and after this rainstorm was sky blue pink and we went down the hill

And we passed her.

Childhood perish and the

parish where she gr had got married to my dad.

I'll just be honest with you and i in a million years I would have never been able to figure out that route.

And my friend Sister Janice Farnum said to me, which was quite beautiful.

She said, Oh, your mom was taking you past all the places that meant something to her.

So one of the things I

do remind people is that not everything is assigned, but some things are assigned.
