Women don't do it as often.

My father was in art school when my mother married him.

It was right after the war.

So my father went into the army.

He enlisted the day he graduated from high school.

So this is how small this town was.

My father and his best friend left the high school graduation when it was over, walked into the town, not far, it's a few blocks, and enlisted in the army.

By the time my father got home, he walked like a few blocks down.

My grandmother was standing on the porch of their house and said, you couldn't wait for them to take you because she already had two sons in the war.

But already the news has gotten down.

People say everything's so fast now.

Not as fast as in a small town.
