And how do you increase your walking time without turning every walk into an endurance test?
That is what we'll address in the next episode.
I will show you how to choose a walking duration based on your current fitness level.
Your available time.
And the purpose of the walk.
And before I sign off today, here's the strong recovery step for men going through prostate cancer treatment or rebuilding after treatment.
During ADT, radiation, surgery recovery, or the month following treatment, your energy may not follow a predictable pattern.
One day you might feel capable of a full walk, the next day ten minutes will feel demanding.
Do not make up for a difficult day by punishing yourself with a harder walk tomorrow.
Use the three four five ladder according to your current recovery level.
Begin with the three anchor days.
Keep the minimum walk short enough to complete safely.
Add a fourth or fifth day only when your energy and recovery support it, and allow recovery walks to remain recovery walks.
You are not trying to win the week by accumulating the most miles.
You are using movement to preserve your mobility, confidence, strength, and connection to your recovery.
A five minute walk during a difficult treatment week.
may require more courage than a five mile walk required before treatment.
Respect that effort.
Treatment fights the cancer.
An intentional recovery system helps rebuild the man who went through it.
