Appearances
Wednesday, brisker into interval walk, Friday a comfortable walk.
Save a longer enjoyable walk.
Notice this is not five identical workouts.
Each walk has a purpose, some build consistency, some build endurance, some help you practice a quicker pace, some help you recover, some of those simply because walking feels good.
That distinction protects you from the belief that every walk must be faster or longer than the one before it.
Fitness does not move upward in a perfectly straight line.
Your energy changes, your sleep changes, the weather changes, your responsibilities change.
A sustainable walking system allows you to adjust without abandoning the entire plan.
Now, should you walk every day?
You may eventually choose to walk six or seven days a week.
And there's nothing automatically wrong with daily walking when your body tolerates it.
And some of those walks are comfortable or restorative.
But walking every day is not required to prove your commitment.
And daily walking does not mean completing a demanding fitness walk every day.
There's a major difference between I move my body every day and I push my body hard every day.
Your health is not built only during activity.
It is also supported by recovery.
The goal is not to collect the greatest number of walking days.
The goal is to create the right combination of movement, recovery, strength, and consistency for your life.
