And I want to make sure, first of all, there's some great reporting.

Great reporting from my colleagues, Ari Berman and Pema Levy, who've done amazing reporting on this.
Okay, good, good, good.
Ari's great.
And so is Pema.
And they've been talking about the fact that this is a court issue.
Like Alito's argument that the 15th Amendment
effectively bans kind of race consciousness in remedies for voter discrimination, it basically means that any law that Congress passes will then be subject to this new test, to this kind of new interpretation of the Constitution.
And so in order to get around this, we actually need a new court.
And this is what I fundamentally believe.
I'm not in the business of telling people exactly how to vote, but I can share my opinion.
And my opinion is that if you want to court the black vote going forward, if you are interested in being elected in 2028 and you're anyone, whether a Democrat or Republican, but you want the black vote to help you get elected, you need to articulate in very clear terms exactly how you will protect black political power, period.
Like black people should not entertain candidates that cannot stand very, very clearly and speak very, very clearly about how they will protect black people's right to vote, period.
And if if you can't say to me that you will either.
I mean, you know, listen, I can get to prescriptions, pack the court.
That you will campaign on a trifecta to be able to control all the two houses of all three branches of government so that you can actually sign something into law.
You know, there's this article from 2022 that was talking about Nancy Pelosi saying that if you couldn't get voting rights, a voting rights bill through, then you might as well just go to the beach.
Like she understood fundamentally that this was a really critical issue.
And so whoever is running in 2028, my message to them.
