And that is pretty concerning.
Uh in general, I think no one should have this tech.
Um and we should be building it, if at all, under incredibly different circumstances, under like truly global democratic control.
Um, with you know, a global effort to build it safely, but also with buy-in that ensuring that people actually want it.
Um, but
this government in particular is very concerning.
They've demonstrated a strong interest in using it for lethal autonomous weapons, for mass surveillance.
And there's no such thing as like a safe
super weapon.
You know, it's like it depends on what is being pointed at and who's using it for what.
It's not a property of the system.
It's a property of the entire ecosystem and the world that it's coming into.
Yeah.
I think it's kind of populist versus elite, right?
Um you've got the populist left and the populist right.
opposing AI, supporting regulations, opposing the preemption of state level regulations, which Congress was pushing, uh, under the Republican uh leadership.
And then the Republican leadership is just taking orders from like the industry.
Um and
The AI industry is the wealthiest industry of all time.
And so it's very unpopular to try and nullify all state-level AI regulations.
