Preparation's everything.

You need to make sure that, you know, you're doing the right things during the week.

I was someone that was looking into different diets.

So I tried many different diets throughout my footy career, different recovery methods.

Like I think the science is changing all the time, but just trying to find that edge.

So, you know, whether it was, I think when I first started out, it was get in a cold bath for as long as you can.

And that's just what footy players did.

And then the science changed and it was like, no,

it actually slows down the recovery process, contrast baths are probably better.

So I was just trying to stay ahead of the game.

And I spoke about quality over quantity.

so many of us have this obsession with being the hardest worker in the room and i don't think there's anything wrong with hard work but if there's no quality in it then you're not going to see the improvement in your game that you would like so for me any time that i was working on my craft it was all right how can i do this particular skill better it's important firstly to go away do the research make sure that i'm training it the right way and then i know if i train it the right way then i'm going to see the improvement in my game that i'd like

So I actually, I learned that from a couple of guys at Geelong when I first got there.

And that was all about learning to lower your center of gravity.

I believed that if I was able to, and you're right, I used to train in the runners in the wet as well at training sessions.

For that reason, I knew if I could lower my center of gravity, I could change direction in my runners, then I was obviously going to be able to do that.
