Which of these do you think were the most consequential?

Uh partly 'cause I grew up there.

So I met Saddam when I was a child living in Baghdad when he was uh he was the vice president and Bakr was the president.

And then met him again after his capture in two thousand and three when I was serving with the Americans, a sort of beginning and end.

It was a it was very strange.

Amazing to see him at beginning and end.

Yeah, and then Kings of Jordan, but then most people in my position have met.

You know, I met King Hussein and and King Abdullah.

I met MBZ who gave me a corn, cane with a with a

a falcon on it, which uh if I'm ever looking to feel really pompous, I'll flounce around with that thing there.

But my favorite story was about the father Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad, who is this amazing figure because he creates, you know, from a sort of essentially a pearl fishing

coastal state.

He creates this this global economic superpower, you know, the state of Qatar now.

And um we were at Sandhurst, um, and I was looking after him at a sovereign spread and he was s slightly lame because he'd injured himself playing football with his grandson.

So he said he said, I'm not walking up to the the square.

You know, I I don't really like it here.

They used to call me Prince Fatty when I was here as an officer cadet.

We're gonna drive up.
