that is one of the most powerful things you can do for your body or for someone else to feel really safe.
So yeah, I think condoms for all occasions.
i think the first thing that perhaps is even more important is when you are having these safer sex practice discussions is to maybe even do it outside of a sexual context so that might be before you even get naked and that is saying something like i only have sex with condoms do you have any or should we get some on the way home i would feel safer if we were to use protection or i find it really sexy when we use protection or for people who
perhaps have been having sex without barrier methods and now want to, you might say something like, I know we've been having sex in this way, but I'd like to start using condoms.
How do you feel about that?
So I think having the conversation first always makes it a lot easier for everyone involved when you are going into that sexual context.
But I think even, you know, identifying that often when it comes to sex, everyone just thinks that it's smooth and, you know, we should be seamless and there should be no sounds or clunkiness.
But that's really what sex is.
And I think stumbling with a condom is just a part of sex.
I mean, your bodies will make sounds.
You may fall off the bed.
Things will happen.
And that's, you know, very, very human of you.
So
without even sort of trying to make it this really sort of sexy dance with a condom.
Although, you know, you could certainly do that.
Maybe just acknowledging that it's a very human part of it.
It can feel really tricky to consistently communicate your boundaries, particularly when they're being met with
a response that isn't respecting what you're wanting or needing for a great sexual experience.
And I think when it comes to this kind of coercive behavior, it's really important to remind everyone that you can't convince, coerce, or persuade anyone into having sex in a way that they don't want to.
