There were, I think, six guns, and then there was a replica one which was made out of wood.

Some of the people said it looked better than some of the guns because all the other guns were very small, as you may guess, and very small caliber.

The other thing was that we needed what you might call a rearguard.

So we were taking something like 24 prison warders, subduing them, and then people had to watch them.

So that couldn't be the escapees because they were escaping.

It had to be others.

So a number of people, and some of them I know, were within weeks of leaving prison.

These are people you knew, you know, entrusted to become the rearguard.

In other words, as we arrested them all, got them all settled, we put pillowcases over their heads so that they couldn't see and they were attached to each other by their hands, etc.

Once you did that,

You could hand over these people so they couldn't come out until that point because they would have been sent.

And I have to say they're the courageous ones because they could have ended up getting life sentences on top of what they were doing.

This is the way we explain to people.

Everybody's got a part in this escape.

Concentrate on your part.

Don't worry about what the other person's doing, what your comrade's doing.

I hope he got that right.

I hope this was done right.
