And I mean, if I backtrack, I can say I felt a presence, but I didn't consciously feel the presence.

I kind of came to as my body landed on a wallaby.

And then I went, oh, right, that's what we're doing.

And I knew there was a rock.

So I kind of wrangled this struggling wallaby until I put a hand on a rock and then...

doink, doink, doink and then I had food for a month.

In fact, when they came to get me, I still had three weeks worth of food and I fed Lee lunch.

But the interesting thing for me is I used to hunt with my dingo and because of that, my body knew what it was

to be able to jump on an animal and have the right levers to be able to subdue it.

And so the probably 30-odd times that I'd done that were in my nervous system and my body...

Felt that there was a wallaby there and jumped on it and that was that.

I ate for a month.

What are your earliest memories of being in nature, in the wild?

Pretty much I think my earliest memories are my earliest memories.

My dad is this super adventurer.

Like he always has been like the most calm action hero you can imagine.

You know, the most kind action hero you can imagine but still an action hero.

and he needs adventure, and he got three girls, and there was no part of him that decided that he was going to treat girls any differently because they were girls, so we got to go out adventuring with Dad, with Dougie, as we know him, and Mum would come along too.

So being out in the bush, climbing mountains, going on adventures,

camping, camping with no money, with A-frame tents that would blow down in the wind and get rained in, making absolutely horrendous one-pot meals of braised steak and onions around a campfire, going on bushwalks, bird watching with mum, animal watching.
