Everything under the sun you have to vote on.
But what I have found after almost 10 years in the Texas House is that the biggest driver of policy in Texas is corruption.
And it's not necessarily illegal corruption.
It's just...
A friend of the governor's hires a former lobbyist to get at our taxpayer dollars.
And most of the big bills we vote on are vendor contracts that go to friends of Greg Abbott.
Right.
And it's really gross.
And especially when it comes to our public schools.
Yeah, I had a former legislator sum it up this way.
Most legislators in Texas are either independently wealthy, they're supported by their spouse, or they're on the take.
And I find that to- It's kind of depressing.
Yeah.
Is depressing.
Yes, we digress.
So and it's especially gross when you think about our schools.
Right.
Because we've had an exodus of teachers leaving the classroom.
They're not paid enough.
They're not respected.
