you know you think there's no time you think everything's going to happen now and i remember there was one of the hippies she was 40 and she was training to be a nurse and of course in my head 19 i was thinking god how tragic why would you bother learning how to do something when you're 40. uh

And she was like, yeah, I must have said that to her in some way.

And she was like, yeah, if I do qualify, I'll be doing this job for 25 years, which is longer than you've been alive, you little dick.

So it was...

It was a good thing to learn at that age that actually you have more time than you think.

You've got time to go down cul-de-sacs.

You've got time to fail.

You've got time to start again, time to come up with a new dream.

So I'm only laughing because whenever I mentioned this, the papers pick up on it.

And I just have people opening papers, rolling their eyes, going, Jesus, will they ever shut up about his status?

We get it.

But I was.

And it was awful.

Don't get me wrong.

I remember I was in hospital.

The police and the ambulance came, found me in the street, and I was in the hospital the next morning, and this nurse came up to me and she said, is there anyone you'd like us to contact?

Would you like us to contact your parents?

And in my head, I was thinking, well, I don't want to freak them out, but if I'm going to die, they'll be annoyed that they didn't get to see me before I died.
