I wouldn't say the most compelling, but the most perhaps important because it is perhaps the closest recollection that someone will have to what happened on the day of the event being so close to it.
So I'm interested in your research, Shane.
Has witness testimony that was perhaps recorded by that UFO organization been preserved?
Have you become the custodian of that testimony from those witnesses?
Where does that currently live?
found her address and she wasn't listed and there was no phone book for her to be in at the time as well wasn't it and they turned up I think Grant that was in your piece they had some interesting investigative skills to be able to track her down and she was comments that she was perplexed as to how they found her and more importantly they tracked down her address and or phone number so yeah
Yeah, I mean, I think, and we've heard others say this before that I think every hypothesis needs to stay on the table until there is evidence provided that either validates that hypothesis or invalidates it.
So, and that's so frustrating about Westall is you have a number of hypotheses that have been proposed over the years,
Obviously, the non-human intelligence hypothesis is the one that's most fascinating and fantastical, but you also have hypotheses that, well, maybe it was some top secret technology that was being tested and something went wrong or didn't go to plan.
Or maybe it was a more conventional explanation that...
researcher like keith basterfield and credit to him for doing his due diligence and putting research out there that it was perhaps a high altitude balloon of uh project high bell that was off course um and descended uh to this wooded area south of the school uh but again there's been no documentary evidence unfortunately that has been um you know
seen the light of day, that supports that hypothesis.
So I'm open to all hypotheses that are out there, with the exception of it being the Mick West explanation that it's a flock of birds.
And that was put forward as an explanation by the Dandenong Journal in the week after, or it was reported by the Dandenong Journal, I should say, that
One of the explanations was that it was a flock of birds, and I think we can safely rule that out.
But I think it's important to keep all hypotheses on the table and look for, search for evidence that can discount one hypothesis and then strengthen perhaps some of the other hypotheses that are out there.
And that's, you know, I know Keith Basterfield had done a ton of research on it being a plausible explanation being
human technology that was not seen frequently in the public in the melbourne area being a high altitude balloon which was not necessarily a a top secret project but a lot of the equipment the sensor equipment that was used
to detect radioactive elements in the atmosphere.
And NASA was using sensors for testing of gamma rays, x-rays.
