Um, then we would be able to to claim that territory as our own as the settlers of Oklahoma.
This is what they were doing to fourth graders.
Um, we were not allowed to run with our wagons because it used to be they'd line us up and we'd all like run with our wagons, trail them behind us.
We were put into family groups, very Oregon trail uh family group style.
And we had to run to claim these territories.
Um, and then we'd have to run back and bring our deeds to the principal, and then they would give us our lunches.
And we weren't allowed to run with our wagons because a few years before there had been a covered wagon incident wherein a child broke his leg.
So one of us had to be the wagon puller and the rest of our family could run and push the Native American out of his land so we could then grab the deed, which was a stake in the ground, and run it back to our principal who would feed us for the good work we did.
Settling Oklahoma.
We all of them you can ask pretty much any Oklahoman who went to school in the eighties, nineties, and I'm afraid still into the two thousands about land run day.
And we all have a very similar s like sunflower spitting contests out on y'all have field day.
And I did not know what field day was until you described it.
