I've been struggling a lot with the guilt, but it's also made me wonder, are there studies that have been done?
Because parenting has not always been just this 100% contact sport at all times.
Right.
And I'm not saying it was better before.
I'm saying there has to be a balance.
The latchkey kids in the 80s who never saw their parents.
Absolutely.
Some abandonment issues came built in.
But also hyper attachment parents.
There is a middle ground.
But it doesn't stop the guilt from eating at me that I told my kids to go play in their room again.
Not all child-free people are anti-child.
That is nothing what I'm saying.
I know someone's going to sound clip that weird just because they want to.
But there is a large group of child-free people that are anti-child.
They don't want the children in the grocery store.
As a parent, I don't want my children in the grocery store, but I don't have a choice because we do, in fact, have to go to the grocery store and I have children.
