I was like, listen, in the books that we're reading together, the main character has to battle this dragon thing.
And I didn't read most of the dragon battle because it was like a third of the way through the book.
And there were so many pages behind it.
I was like, well, dude definitely lives.
I'm just going to skip to the part where he finishes fighting.
I got the basic.
I skimmed the rest.
I will defend skim reading as reading books.
So kingdom come because I didn't need to know the specifics of defeating the dragon, just that he did defeat the dragon.
The battle isn't as interesting to you as the story.

And this, this feels like a valid way to read unless I am reading it because an author has asked me to give an honest assessment or I'm beta reading something or I'm critically reading something, or it's one of the thinky thought type books that I'm supposed to challenge myself with the words on the page.
