My instinct is that he will probably sort of leave it to the diplomats.

I wouldn't be massively surprised if he left Yvette Cooper as Foreign Secretary.

But what should we be doing more broadly?

I mean...

I like this idea of progressive... I wouldn't call it nationalism.

I'd say patriotism.

This is what I always say about myself.

I consider myself on the left, but I am a patriot.

And I do think that there are certain things that we have here that we're very lucky to have, right?

And I think we do have...

Goods in our society that we take hugely for granted.

Freedom of speech, freedom of media.

There are criticisms to be made about media, but we have a free media, right?

When we have elections, we can trust those elections.

We trust our legal system, right?

We have a rule of law.

I've seen these things being completely unpicked in Turkey.

I do think that's something that NATO should refocus on.

I personally think they should be doing that by being far more critical of Erdogan and other leaders in NATO who are going on a sort of anti-democratic direction, including Trump, actually.

I mean, you know, he's an autocrat.
