So before we get back to the madcap escape fugitive chase across the world, we have to talk about what he actually did.
And it's not pretty or fun.
The first assaults linked to Nicholas Rossi date back to 2006 when he was 18 and fresh out of care but before all of the serious campaigning had started.
He met a girl online and they got on but when they met up he started intensely pressuring her to have sex with him and when she refused he raped her.
The girl assumed that she wouldn't be taken seriously so she didn't report it at the time.
And she was right, because the following year, another 18-year-old woman did go to the police and accuse Nicholas Rossi of rape, but he was not arrested or charged.
I remember.
He started apologising and making excuses, telling her that she was so beautiful he just couldn't help himself.
And he begged Mary not to tell anyone.
But she did, thankfully.
She went to the police and she pressed charges.
Good.
