In the United States, for example, they'll talk about
you know, just post-treatment Lyme disease syndrome, this idea that after the acute infection has passed, you would continue to experience some symptoms.
I think doctors are pretty on board with that maybe being the case, but what we see as chronic Lyme disease is this sense that, like, you have these deep,
borrowed Lyme disease parasites, the Borrelia burgdorferi pathogens are sort of stuck in your system, in your brain.
That's been debunked.
And then in Australia, we layer onto that the fact that our medical authorities don't recognise Lyme disease here at all.
That was a period where, okay, coffee enemas, that sounds pretty weird.
But also as someone who's, you know, suffered from a lot of gut symptoms over my life, I wasn't, I was interested, um,
And so I think that was probably the tipping point because at that point we were quite connected.
Oh, that's very interesting.
It's a little outlandish, but I'd be interested in learning more.
And from there Lauren would say things on occasion.
So she believed, you know, that vaccines were causing autism, which was a flag.
But even then it was pre-COVID, so that was a very fringe belief.
I'd never met Lauren.
an anti-vaxxer before.
And then through COVID, that really, I guess, really compounded things with a lot of the conspiracy theories that were going around there.
And that's when she was looking at even more extreme therapies.
She was drinking bleach.
She was drinking what you might call sheep dip or cattle drench.
