But

You just feel so alone.

You're on a different plane.

And I think I describe it in the memoir as feeling a bit like you've fallen into a sinkhole.

And you can kind of look up and you see the world moving on and there's light up there somewhere, but you are down deep in the darkness.

And...

Yeah, you can't get out.

So I always felt it was important to share just sort of some fragments of Matt in this book because although it's my journey through losing him and sort of working through 10 years of grief really,

I felt it was important to say a little bit about who he was as a man and as a husband and as a father.

And he was great.

You know, like we were just a kind of everyday normal couple, really.

But we met at work in London.

He came in and stole a job that I had been hoping to get, a promotion.

So it wasn't a great start.

I was pretty pissed off with him, to be honest.

Well, I was determined not to like him.

And then it was 2001 when he joined the company.

And a few weeks later...

The Twin Towers fell.

There was that horrendous terrorist attack in New York and it was the day after we went and got a coffee together.
