I was like 19 or 20.
And I was much too young to handle this much responsibility and I was not very good at it.
And there's 50 like adult Americans, like my parents age would come in and I was supposed to take care of them.
And the experience is very strange.
And I said to myself,
I should write a book about this.
And one of the reasons you do it, and this is one of the problems with modern technology, there's, you know, what was I going to do when I'm in, I don't even, I didn't even speak Spanish.
I couldn't watch the TV.
I didn't really have any friends out there.
There's no electronics.
There's nothing to play with.
I read a ton of books.
There was a used bookshop.
I think I went through every book that they had there.
But I was like kind of bored and I bought a notebook one day and I wrote.
And I wrote, I started writing a novel.
Never written a short story in my life.
I started writing a novel about this really cool tour guide, American young tour guide who was taking care of these annoying clients.
Called the book Aim to Please.
I came back to the States and actually wanted to finish it.
