It was just that constant state of playing pretend and keeping face and keeping the story going of, you know, half sisters on the way really excited about it.
I let, I wasn't, my stepmother didn't allow me to go to any of the appointments like during the pregnancy because that would be too suspicious.

I mean, I shouldn't have been experiencing fatherhood at 15 years old in the first place.
I didn't really have a choice in it.
My stepmother told me for years that she couldn't fall pregnant.
Um, and that gave me reassurance as to when the sexual abuse was occurring, but then she did end up falling pregnant and, uh, essentially, yeah, it was, it corrupted my experience of fatherhood.
It corrupted my experience of love and safety and choice.
And those are, you know, have far reaching ramifications that I've still been dealing with to this day.
Um, and I've only just come to terms with really.
