The thing about it was it was an awful mixture of kind of pressure and boredom.
You knew at the beginning of the week you had nothing and then at the end of the week you had to have enough and so you'd be watching whatever it was, Freaky Eaters or something and you wouldn't get anything out of it and you'd be really bored and you'd be really stressed and you'd think fuck yeah and you can't speed it up, you couldn't fast forward.

But, I mean, the fun bit was the recording.
The recording day, usually it was pretty good fun.

You'd put something down, but you'd know it wasn't very good.
So the first series, the first producer, up until about... We did seven series, and the producer told me, you can only put in 100 clips in the script, right?
Because the machine only takes 100.
You can only play in 100 clips, right?
So I would always hit 100, and I would have to cut stuff that, you know.
And then he went, and the new producer, I wrote the script, and he said, why didn't you include this clip or that clip?
I said, well, I'm up to 100 clips, the machine only takes 100 clips.
He said, who told you that?
Yeah, it was basically to get me to stop writing such long scripts.
Because all the clips had to be sourced and, you know, it was like a massive job.
