that's the truth.
He he wouldn't have taken that kind of money in a place where he would have received like fifteen, twenty percent less um in his pocket every every paycheck.
So it's honest.
I mean, do I think that there there should be a mech mechanism to adjust for that?
No, because I think that's uh we've talked about this before, but it's kind of a loser's lament.
You didn't get the guy because you have uh um taxes in your state or province.
But what wh why don't you sell the things that you do have like a c uh um
person uh earning American dollars in Edmonton that are paying a higher tax in Florida but they're living in and st having all their bills in Canadian dollars.
So lean into the positives and that's that's the that's the world.
Like it can't all be a completely even um marketplace.
There there's gonna be pros and cons.
Yeah.
It's as of October seventh, the first day of the season, there's no longer you can no longer sign a new contract that has deferred money in it.
Yeah, that's that's in the new C BA and the ad adoption date is the first day of the regular season, October seventh.
You can defer as much as you want.
Um a player could have actually zero dollars um in a in a season and have it all deferred.
There's no limits on the deferral.
Um the the way that it works is, you know, it's a concept of money today is worth more than money in the future.
So if a player is gonna earn money in a season but get paid for it later after the contract's over, um it has to be adjusted using um an interest rate to like what that money is worth today.
So in some of these contracts it really was like a lot of work to save like very little on the cap because they were deferring money to like the day after the contract ended.
