So they were you know, it was coming down by a couple hundred thousand a year on the cap it, which I guess it you know, every dollar counts, but it's not significant.

Um so, you know, well the one that you asked me to take a look at um coming on was for example Connor McDavid.

So if he

were to sign a let's say a three year deal or he's gonna get p um paid sixteen million, but he took fifteen million of the compensation from the first year and he got it paid in the eleventh year, so kind of move it out ten years, that would bring his cap head down to fourteen million.

So that is significant, but a savvy person like Hunter McDavid's not going to think that he made sixteen million a year if it's really only worth uh you know if it's really only worth four

14 million in today's dollars.

Um, you know, like there's a cost to him.

If he had that money now, he could do something with it and it would earn more money.

So and so the only place that really makes a significant difference is when you're talking big dollars and deferring it really far.

If you're talking now a guy like Walman, and again like it unless he's willing to defer very far and a lot of money, it's not gonna be a huge significant difference.

Um the one like where I think

It made the most difference was Tavaris because I think he just was willing to take less money.

I mean less or less like the the value of the money he was willing to take less.

But all these other deals, um, even like a Jackson Blake, they they took the money out further out, but they got took because of doing that, they got a probably a little bit more money.

And so it kind of goes in a circle, right?

If you're gonna make a guy wage, you're gonna have to pay him more, and then that kind of defeats the purpose.

So, you know, again, if Connor McC

David, maybe that's maybe the comparable to McGavid is more like a Shohei Otani in baseball who deferred all his money like decades out because he doesn't really need the money and he's already made a lot.

Um so you know, maybe that's a that's a similarity and so he would be willing to defer a lot um to bring the cap it down.

But other than that, yeah, it does it doesn't really provide a a big benefit for most players.
