Yeah, so that I'll this season for the first time there'll be a salary cap in the playoffs.

Um it's the same cap limit as during the regular season.

So this year that's ninety five point five million.

But the calculation is different.

Um so it it's only the twenty players that are dressed for the game.

So in the regular season i injured players scratches count towards the cap.

In the playoffs it's only uh the players that are dressed and therefore it's only a cap like for the actual

game.

It doesn't matter what you do on the off days, like it's not like in the regular season where there's transactions to make.

It's only a cap for the roster that plays in a playoff game.

But one of the interesting things is the way that that calculation works, aside from it only being the twenty players dress, is that there is no um it does not factor in when a player was added to the roster during the season.

So as we've talked about before on your show, uh when team

have a cap space when they're under the cap.

They they build up space and what because the way that the cap works is when you acquire a player, they're only charged to a team for the portion of the season remaining.

That's why if you acquire a player halfway through the season, you only have to have room for half of their cap.

And that's why at the trade deadline, teams only have to fit about twenty percent of a player's cap hit.

But in this new playoff cap, you have to actually f you have it accounts for the entire player's

original cap hit.

So let's say uh it's a ten million dollar player that its team acquires at the trade deadline, they're only that player's only gonna take up two million dollars in the regular season because there's only twenty percent of the season left, but they have to fit the full ten million on their playoff cap if they want the player to play.

There's a few other nuances, but that that's the big one and the big difference.
