Um and nineteen is is actually based on the CH and that rules the CHL definition means like they you have to be turning twenty by December thirty first of the season to be able to be eligible for the HL.

So um that's o often been a bone of contention.

You have these drafted players that are eighteen.

or nineteen and it's kinda like NHL or CHL and they can't go to the AHL.

So this is one where the the NHL and the NHL PA actually agreed on something, but it's not enough for them to agree.

You have to also get someone else to agree to it.

And in this case it's the CHL.

So when the when the key terms or the MOU came out for the C V A a few months ago, it said on there that they have agreed that they will be they will work to ge make an exception so that one team can have each team can have one nineteen year old in the AHL.

Um when the transition rules came out this week, it says on there that they basically they are trying to get that into effect for this season.

Um technically they can't reopen the season.

Agreement with the NHL until um next spring.

But and also speaking to some people, um, they are planning to sit down with the CHL next week and try to hammer out um a deal to adjust that to allow for that to go into effect the season.

So that one is definitely up in the air.

You might say, like, why would the CHL ever agree to that?

But don't forget the CHL gets a lot of funding and is very reliant, obviously, on the relationship.

Yeah.

relationship with NHL and if they play hardball now, um, you know, what does that mean for the next when the agreement comes up uh next year?

So there's that this is one to watch and is up in the air and I know there's a there's a lot of teams and a lot of fans watching for this one because there's there's a lot each team can identify a player that would make a lot of sense to be a a nineteen year old on the AHL.

Um, I think y when you take all these things together, the only conclusion you can come to is that they will there will be less trades because it is harder to it'll be harder to make a trade and it'll be harder to be able to get the full value out of a trade.
