So a team that's under the cap and incurring cap space, they get themselves in a position where they can take on a a bigger cap head at the trade deadline traditionally.

But now when they when they do that and they model out what would our playoff lineup look like, there's a chance that they wouldn't be able to dress all their best players because again, they don't get the benefit of a pro rated capit for acquiring a guy at the deadline.

So again, that team, why would they give up the same kind of assets for a player if they now they have to scratch a a a good player in the playoffs to be able to make it all fit?

So that's one scenario where you've kind of lessened the benefit of accruing a lot of cap space.

Now there's still because you're only the playoff cap hits only for the twenty dress guys, certainly there's still a benefit to add some guys with a deadline and again because you're dropping a bunch of guys kinda off your cat number when you're only counting twenty.

But I think it's like the the teams that would accrue a lot of space and make and add a lot of cap hit, there's there's less of a benefit to doing that.

The other teams

that I think are impacted are teams that are tight to the cap and need um double retention to make it work.

Like we just talked about the Oilers doing it e every year.

Like they just they won't be able to do that now.

So that's again less teams that can actually make a move for a player because they wouldn't be able to fit it in.

Um and then the final group would be teams that are using LTIR.

Um because there's less benefit of LTIR in the regular season.

Um, you know, again like it uh we we talked about uh Florida with Kachuk, they can only benefit three point eight million instead of like last year at the at the deadline they had his full man.

They don't get Brad Mar they don't get

They don't get Bradbrock.

Right.

So I mean again all not to say that there won't be trades and there can still be trades, but y you just look at all those different factors, like it it there must it must be more difficult to make trades or l and less benefit to teams um for making trades, especially if you can't dress everyone in the playoffs.
