Like they threw a couple of different things at the wall to try and solve a problem and um, you know, there's gonna be some unintended consequences and I think a lot of that is less trade activity.

Um and but yeah, I I mean you can look at some of these rules and it seems clear that the key people involved don't necessarily care that there's less trade activity or consider that as a a problem, right?

Otherwise like a thing like the double retention, why why would you remove that unless you just feel like

it it sort of allows teams to wheel and deal more and um s sort of get more out of the salary cap and if you don't like it then you you you'd make that restriction.

I think anytime you get to the cup final it's a pretty successful year.

I mean most teams in the NHL would take it it but for Edmonton where they're at, I mean it's obviously um judged by cuts, so it's not a not a total success, but you can't look at the year as a failure or even p um poor.

I mean it's as good as you could possibly get without winning.

I mean, the one is Trent Frederick, that's that's a lot of firm obviously and and money.

Um you wonder what like what was that number gonna be on a three year deal?

Was it gonna be like four, four and a half?

Um and you know, did he have other offers that could get even

close to Edmund's offer.

I mean that you we won't know 'cause they didn't go to market that that's the one that was was a big commitment.
