Well, I'm I I'm loath to completely agree with NHL and Gary Batman, but in this case I I I don't I w yeah, I wouldn't say it's not a factor, but I think how much of a factor is overblown.

Because we have a tax calculator on the site.

You can see the different attack the different tax rates depending on what team you play for, but that assumes uh a few things.

That assumes that the player is gonna be taxed for full pay at that location, which is not the case.

and most a lot of times you know they set up signing bonuses, they and they're not a resident there.

Um Alan also talked a lot about um there's a a tax vehicle in Canada you can use or you defer payments and John Tavares actually has a case against the CRA that's in court right now.

It's almost resolved I think about how that's treated.

So you can hire with that kind of money on the line you can hire accountants and structure things so that you're not paying that full tax rate.

And the other part that doesn't

talked about and this wouldn't help the team like in California, but it helps the team in c like in Edmonton.

if you're making US dollars and you're living in Canada and all your costs are in Canadian dollars, that's a that's an advantage, right?

So it's not gonna make up for the whole difference in taxes, but it certainly makes up um quite a bit of difference when you kinda get a you know, at this point thirty six percent um premium on your money because you're you're paying uh most of your costs in Canadian dollars.

You know what, like most things, the truth is somewhere m in the middle.
