When you go to court, they pull a ball out of a hat to decide who your judge is.

And some judges like you, some judges like this, some judges like that.

And then if you go to a full jury trial, then they literally choose 12 random people off the street.

who are going to be the people who decide your case, right?

Okay, so if you're an AI agent, there are so many random pieces of information to help you understand what's going to happen if I sign this agreement with this person.

I literally cannot guess.

There's randomness embedded in that process.

But if I sign a smart contract with this person, I can read every single piece of bytecode, I can simulate the whole thing, I can formally verify the code, and I can do that all in the span of seconds.

The smart contract is entirely deterministic, but the legal contract is not.

And so an AI agent, you know, in a way, like the people who built Ethereum, they thought, well, everybody will just read the code.

And obviously we'll all read the code and we'll understand exactly what it does.

And we'll trust it.

We'll trust it more than we trust the legal system.

The problem with the story is that the people who wrote Ethereum are all autistic programmers.

And autistic programmers, they really feel like, oh, I trust the code.

I read the code and it's great.

The problem is that we're not like that.

Most human beings are not like autistic programmers, but AI agents are more like autistic programmers than they're like the rest of us.

And so in a way, AI agents are kind of the perfect customer.

All of the things that you have to do, right?
