If you've ever worked with me, you know that we rarely spend an entire strategy session talking about podcasting.
We are talking about your business and your customers and where your new clients come from and how your content supports your offers.
We are talking about what happens after someone discovers your show.
And we are talking about your authority.
Podcasting is just a medium that we're using to accomplish those things.
Now, I think one of the hardest parts about growing a business is realizing that your professional identity sometimes changes before your audience's perception of you does.
And that can feel uncomfortable.
You start to talk about new ideas and wonder like, are people thinking, wait, I thought you did this.
You're worried about confusing your audience.
You wonder if you're diluting the message.
Maybe you've even experienced this in your own business.
Maybe you started as one thing, but over the years have gained experience, developed new skills and started solving bigger problems.
Been there.
There now, I get it.
But people still know you for the version of yourself from three or four years ago.
And I think that's what makes us hesitate.
I know it's made me hesitate for a while now.
And it can make you feel like you have to stay inside the box you've built because that's what people expect.
Now, here's the funny thing I've been realizing, though.
I think we're often the last people to recognize our own evolution.
