So I don't want to just turn people away and say we're not accepting new clients because technically we are not right now, but we do have this wait list in place so they can get on it and be the first to know when we do have capacity, and then we'll have the conversation about what it looks like to work with us.
Now in making the decision to add a wait list, I started to think, well, if we're not actively onboarding new clients, why am I still recording for the podcast?
Right?
Right.
That's a question I've had from clients when they are in a busy season and they don't want to create content.
It's a valid question.
I think the answer
really highlights one of the bigger mindset shifts that we have to have around podcasting, specifically as business owners.
Because if the only purpose of your podcast is to generate leads or clients for the month that you're releasing, then it does make complete sense to stop.
Releasing episodes, right?
When your business is full.
But I don't think that's how we need to always view podcasting.
There are absolutely going to be seasons where your content should support a launch or a product or a service that you offer, something that you're specifically driving people towards.
I teach this all the time.
You've heard me talk about this over and over and over again in recent episodes, but I also believe something else.
Your podcast should outlive your promotions.
Your business is not always going to have the exact same services.
You will shift and you will change just like we are here at Gaffin Creative.
But the episodes that you create today should still be serving your business long after your launch ends or your program closes or your availability changes.
That's what I want to talk about today because I think this perspective will not only change what you create, but why you create it in the first place.
