So this basically helps with that.
It allows cities to apply.
Some cities are not going to be ready.
They may not want to participate.
They may want to just go next door to maybe Lauderdale Hill, Lauderdale Lakes, or Marymount and participate.
We didn't ask any questions when FIFA came up here looking for $2 million.
In fact, we just said, we'll give it to you.
Don't even come back, because whatever you negotiate, we've already committed $2 million to this organization.
Yet, when it comes to our districts and municipalities, we're having second thoughts.
Allowing them to get a matching grant could be $5,000, $10,000, $25,000.
We're having second thoughts about helping our individual cities and districts, but we're willing to give
whether it was the college folks that came here, the Orange Bowl, all these other organizations that never have to come back and explain how they're going to spend this money in our communities.
We've got to do better.
This is not a whole bunch of money, okay?
And each of us, you've got letters already from, you've heard from people here.
You've got a letter in your email from Hollywood, and we're finding it hard.
to come up with a small amount of funds for these cities to do things in their communities.
So I hope that we can allow these cities to make the decision.
You may not even spend up to $250,000.
It's a possibility.
