No, I did not hear that part.
Not a great afternoon.
I mean, here's the thing.
The president imposed these tariffs knowing full well that they were illegal and that he probably couldn't do it, saying he didn't really care.
He wanted to impose it.
He wants to punish other countries.
He wanted to boost domestic manufacturing and the like.
got his punishment in, didn't get the investment that he wanted.
But now, because the Supreme Court has ruled them illegal, everybody should get their money back.
But who's going to get their money back and how?
This is chaotic.
And this is also, by the way, the way that the president is paying for those massive tax cuts to those at the top of the income distribution.
So now we're left with a bigger budget deficit on top of this
you know, administrative chaos.
And don't forget that, you know, of course, thanks to Elon Musk, you know, the administration has let go a lot of the experts across government that could help make this go more smoothly.
So I think this is going to be enormously frustrating.
And none of that, none of that is going to be good for spurring the kind of investment that we need to see in things that matter across the United States.
So this is just more bad news for American families.
I mean, the trade deficit is one thing.
I just keep coming back to the fact that it was supposed to spur investment in manufacturing, and that is not what we've seen, right?
