It used to be the case that businesses just got business rates applied to them.
So now if you want to take something away from them, you've got to determine which firms, which businesses, is it vape shops and which other businesses?
And what are you going to take away from it?
It's really not clear at all.
So they could find some money by basically taking money from some businesses and giving it to others.
They've worked out which ones they want to help, but not which ones they want to take money away from.
Yeah, I think it's meant to that, actually.
It might sound obvious at first to say, well, let's help pubs.
Pubs are good.
But actually, if pubs are so good, why aren't they financially viable all on their own?
Why aren't people going to them?
