Now, if you look at across the states in the US right now, 24 governors are Democrats, 26 are Republican, and there are 36

governatorial races coming up in these midterms.

Of those 36, actually only five of them are considered to be really up for grabs, really a toss-up.

And Wisconsin is one of those five.

So it is a critical state for Democrats, which is why they would have establishment Democrats, in my opinion, would have loved uh a safer candidate, not so far to the left of the party.

Because remember that while this was a chaotic Democratic primary, the Republican

Republican candidate has run unopposed.

His name is um Tiffany.

And he is uh backed by uh President Trump.

He is an ardent Trump supporter.

He actually voted against certifying the presidential election results in twenty twenty.

And a key thing to note here is that the governor of the state is the person that certifies those presidential results, which is why Democrats are so focused on this particular race.

Look, you're absolutely right.

I mean, uh the last time I one of the last times I was speaking to Claire, we were talking about um Graham Plattner in Maine and and and that fracture with it with between the more progressive side of the party and the establishment Democrats.

We're seeing very, very similar here.

But what's interesting about Francesca Hong is that, like I said, she did not have the endorsement of even Bernie Sanders or AOC.

Whereas if you compare, you know, last week we were also talking about uh something very, very similar, and that was in the neighbouring state of Michigan.

Abdul Al Sayyid won the primary victory amongst Democrats to become

uh a senator for the state.
