We don't have shared experience.

The experiences I'm having now are not experiences that I could have shared with my mom.

She didn't get to have them after the age of 42.

It was a random happy accident.

For the very first time, the first 12 women who signed up for the retreat were all 50 plus.

It had never happened before.

I did 29 retreats.

And there's an age distribution from 20s into 70s, usually.

And all 12 women who signed up were 50 plus.

And my team and I looked at the spreadsheet and thought, this is really unusual and interesting.

let's go for it.

And so we said, we opened up the next 13 spots just to women 50 plus.

It filled up so fast.

Why do you think that is?

We didn't know how much women wanted to be with their age cohorts at this time in their lives.

Why do you think?

I think it's for two reasons.

One is I think they are surrounded by people who say, your mom died so long ago and it's still affecting you.

And so you're not over it yet.

And so they wanted to be with other women who normalized that for them, who also were still missing their moms 30, 40, 50 years later.
