So I left the course at 10 past midnight and then we went up to the other house with the rest of the team, had a slice of pizza, a bottle of beer, and then I just said, guys, I've got to go to bed.
And then I was up at 7 o'clock this morning to write my piece for the BBC Sport website and now here we are.
So, um, that was the background to it all.
But I, and I just thought, you know, I wondered if Rory would sort of not, not pie it all off, but just sort of, you know, try and get through it that much quicker because he said in his speech how much he was looking forward to celebrate it with his team.
Well, the party couldn't have started until after midnight.
The smile was as broad as it was when he tapped in.
