might never walk and in fact he's now in his 30s and he can't he cannot walk he can't talk he can't really communicate or feed himself or dress himself so he needs 24 7 care but it brought me into into contact with a with a you might know this yourself a whole range of everyday heroes
Families and friends of people with special needs who go out of their way to help, to fundraise for equipment that's needed, all that sort of stuff.
These people just quietly go on with looking after the kind of weakest members of society, the ones who really need looking after.
And Kit brings a lot of joy with them.
Angelman's used to be called happy puppet syndrome because people who have it are always kind of happy and smiling and laughing and chuckling for no good reason sometimes that we know.
But he does, you know, he's kind of blonde and blue eyed and he's got a big grin and he gives you the biggest hugs in the world.
Frustrated.
I mean, we were still living in France at this time, so the language barriers were there.
That was what kind of forced us to move back to the UK, really, was the language barrier.
When you're dealing with specialists, medical specialists, even if you can speak a bit of French, you don't always know what they're trying to tell you between the lines, you know.
But yeah, it was kind of, I was, of course I was angry, full of questions.

you know why not somebody else i mean the things that everybody goes through um and then you think why not me yeah what why what makes me so special that i don't that i wouldn't have a special needs kid so yeah uh and you know as i get older and he's a fully grown man now i mean it's not easy um we don't take him on holiday as much as we used to we can't manhandle him from the wheelchair to the bath back into the wheelchair to bed and what have you
So we do need a lot of help.
But luckily for us, we get a lot of help.
Oh, he's got a great life.
Last week they took him to see Take That in Glasgow.
So he was watching Take That.
Then they took him to see some big music festival called Transmit for a whole day.
