In fact, very sensibly, Princess Margaret wasn't going to waste a guest room on me, so I was put in a sort of slightly dusty nanny's room.

And my vivid memory is a knock on the door, because I had nothing, I came with the clothes that I'd been wearing for the fireworks, a knock on the door, and there was Princess Margaret in her nightie, offering me her toothbrush.

She had the girls that she invited.

And when we would go to the Emanuel studio, they had...

blanked out all of the windows so we were in darkness.

I mean, lit inside, but there was no daylight coming in because the press were camped out on all the rooftops with these big, big lenses to try and get any kind of hint of this secret, this fashion secret that was being created inside the Emanuel studio.

And this silk taffeta was the fabric, was this amazing fabric that they were using.
