The actual rehearsal in St.

Paul's Cathedral, because Diana didn't want to get married, in the Abbey, she wanted the cathedral to fit more people in.

So we knew how long it was, we knew what it was going to feel like, and we could visualise it, but no one ever tried it out with the actual silk taffeta.

So when Diana was put into the glass carriage that she went to the cathedral in with her father, who was a large man,

And you have a large amount of material in a very small Cinderella glass carriage.

By the time you arrive at St.

Paul's Cathedral, and Sarah and I have the job of taking her out of the carriage and straightening out that train, it was a complete crumpled mess.

If you look very carefully at those photographs, you'll see an awful lot of creases on that train because it had been literally squashed into a glass carriage.

Most of the photographs that you see of me are of my bottom in the air because I'm bending over trying to sort out this damn train.

It was an amazing day, you know, for a 12-year-old child looking back.

You know, it was the riding down the Mall in a horse-drawn golden carriage.

You know, there is no other fairy tale moment that can ever compete with that.

And I look back and think, goodness, that was extraordinary.

distressed, well obviously you were distressed anyways, a person would be distressed at the end of it, but did, were... I didn't, you know, Giles, I really didn't, you know, I was living overseas, I was very removed from all of that, you know, I was just struggling to become a photographer and then I became a model and so I was travelling, it really wasn't something that I was thinking about.
