I mean, um yeah, so I think with the lab grown meat case, it's not it's not clear to me who the
Who
I would be disrespecting by eating lab grown meat and I don't think I I I don't think that it's possible to disrespect uh a kind of animal or a species.
Now with respect to the uh dead bodies like eating roadkill or something, um I I think that's fine too, honestly.
But I mean I could imagine that maybe maybe there's
Maybe there's a kind of respect or something that that sort of action sits uncomfortably with.
I don't know, a bit.
Um the uh yeah, I mean I'm
I'm a proponent of
lab grown meat, uh just because I I mean I I think my view would be that even if I conceded that there was some kind of morally problematic disrespect here, I think the benefits would just like overwhelm the whatever badness obtains there because um the worst thing we do to animals is factory farming.
And I think that uh the only way factory farming ends is if we have
uh sufficient a sufficiently desirable replacement, which probably is gonna mean lab-grown meat.
So uh if there's still some like residual badness that's involved in lab grown meat, I think that uh my view would be that we should just swallow whatever that is because the there's no worse way of disrespecting animals really than
Torturing them on NAS, which is what we currently do within factory farms.
Yeah.
I yeah, so I don't I definitely don't think that because it's natural, it's good.
But I this is just a this was just a pragmatic point that I think that the uh the animal protection movement has to be realistic about because, you know, like since the since the beginning of the animal protection movement um in the early nineteen seventies basically is when it really got really got going in earnest.
Um, the share of global vegetarians and beans just hasn't increased that much at all.
Um, and you know, I this is I think because at least in part, people like the taste of meat and other animal products a lot.
And um that's kind of what pushes me towards the lab grown meat thing because I think like, you know, there's gotta be an alternative basically.
