I arrived at the Steelers fully formed.
The first Super Bowl I remember watching was Super Bowl XIII in 1979.
Steelers 35, Cowboys 31 played at the Orange Bowl in Miami.
So they were fully formed.
So learning how they they did come together and I had when we were thinking of teams, I thought the Steelers and I kind of knew that, OK, they had a great draft run and it was supplemented.
They were early on and ahead of the curve when it came to drafting players from the historically black colleges.
That was their marketing inefficiency that they exploited.
One thing I learned in doing the research for this was some of the other ways that they were ahead of the curve.
Chuck Knoll, how racially progressive he was, the fact that the Steelers had the first black quarterback to start a season as a starting quarterback for a team.
Yeah, was a Pittsburgh Steeler.
Just some of the other ways that that locker room was ahead of its time and integrated, that was interesting to me.
So we did our first episode on the Dodgers, and obviously Jackie Robinson played a huge role in the story of the Dodgers.
But the Steelers, in their own way,
We're racially progressive and at the forefront of that in the NFL.
So that was probably the core to me that I learned about this team.
And one of the things we're looking at, you know, behind the scenes on the selection process is we want big national teams with a huge following, at least to get us going and to get people in the tent, so to speak.
But teams that haven't been.
