But as a sporting entity, it never felt like it got covered, you know, the way, say, the ABA might have been covered back in the 1970s.
It felt unseemly to me.
And this is where as a journalist in particular, it hit home because of the connection with Jamal Khashoggi, who, you know, from all evidence points to was hacked up and dismembered by on orders from, you know, the same people that were funding the Live Golf Tour.
So that was a difficult one for me to get over.
I do see your point, Colin, that everywhere you look,
people were taking the same money that was funding this tour, right?
And the fact that, say, the NBA opened itself up to and allowed, was going to allow investment, right?
China.
Or just investment even from the same fund, right?
The fact that you could have foreign investment funds purchasing stakes in NBA teams now.
And something similar with the NFL, if I'm not mistaken, right, Colin?

It's interesting.
We got to a place where the valuations of these franchises are so gigantic that the only way you can sell them is if you're going to open it up to some of these type investment funds.
So the only defense of the golfers is that the same money is a part of
of all sports now or soon will become a part of all sports.
But to me, it didn't make it any less unsleamy.
It was hard for me to disassociate myself from the fact of look what happened, look what this did, what these people did to a journalist hit home to me and was something I just couldn't overlook.
The origin stories, the sort of sliding doors moments, right?
