Koufax, you know, not that he was aloof or distant, but he just, you know, was a little bit
less accessible than Don Drysdale and how Koufax kind of talked to the stars on the team.
Drysdale kind of talked to the everyday players and the journeymen.
So that was a fascinating bit of insight when we asked Jaime Horin about Koufax and Drysdale.
So those are the type of insight, you know, we try to satisfy our curiosity when we have those interviews on, in addition, when we're doing the research too.
And again, we like to be surprised.
It's, you know,
There's so much about the Dodgers that you know.
For example, Russell Lopes say Garvey, right?
That's a thing when you think of the Dodgers, you think of that.
So we didn't spend a lot of time on that.
But some of the early decisions going way back to the Brooklyn days and then some of the things that we didn't get a chance to experience that we can talk to someone who can help explain to us.
And just what a blessing that Jaime Horin in his 90s is still so lucid and was able to join us and share his memories.
Well, I'll push back a little bit on that in that there's kind of two phases to his career.
There's before 1991 when he wins the championship, and that's also the same year Be Like Mike comes out.
So his fame gets elevated to a different level.
And then there's after, right?
So the pre-1991, he was a little more accessible.
He's doing a Sunday night.
He's a regular guest on the Sunday night sports wrap up on the CBS affiliate here in Chicago.
