And let's face it, going into the year, Cam, you wouldn't have necessarily turned Pittsburgh a defensive juggernaut.

Now, is does that mean Ryan Shea is necessarily a lockdown defender?

No, but it also means he's not a liability defensively.

And he may just be, you know, uh he may be that.

at you know, offensively sound where you can where you can, you know, theoretically have him trailing

certainly an ice time behind guys like Bouchard and Eckholm and maybe even Jake Wallman, depending on how you know, how much Walman might see

second power play time, but uh you know, Ryan Shea had a really good year last year.

So I I am fairly bullish on the Oilers' prospects on the back end.

I as much as I respect Darnell, I think the most intriguing aspect of that subtraction on the roster is how, if if at all, it'll affect the locker room.

And and you know, there's there's been plenty of cases where

You make a couple of shakeups and your locker room's never the same and you don't find that chemistry.

I'm not saying that's going to happen in Edmonton, but I'm also saying for those who want to say, oh, you know, they got Ryan Shea, Darnell Nurse, at worst it's a wash player for player.

Well, you don't know what it means in the locker room.

You don't know what it means in terms of just a a certain presence on the back end.

And you certainly

certainly don't know what it means in terms of when Darnell was at his best when he was a nasty piece of business in front of his own net.

That was when Darnell was at his best.

And I don't necessarily think that's, you know, Ryan Shay's forte.

But having said all that, I am not uh you know, I'm not overly concerned because of the Oilers strength in numbers.

In terms of that leadership and veteran presence.
